Club Meeting February 2021

Zonta Club of Sydney February 2021 club meeting featured our guest speaker, CEO of Domestic Violence NSW, Delia Donovan

Another month and another fantastic guest speaker at our Zonta Club of Sydney monthly meeting. On Wednesday 17th February 2021 members of the Zonta Club of Sydney were pleased to welcome Delia Donovan, CEO of Domestic Violence NSW and recipient of a Zonta Club of Sydney Yellow Rose in 2020 as our guest speaker.

Delia spoke about her career, starting at the tender age of 18 and working with children in out of home care in the UK, through her social work degree and then her work with organisations such as the Dash charity (Domestic Abuse Stops Here) in the UK and White Ribbon Australia before taking up her current role.

Domestic Violence NSW is the peak body for specialist domestic and family violence services in NSW. The breadth of their work is huge – working in policy and research, providing advice to the government on issues facing the sector, advocacy, building capacity and developing guidelines are just some of the areas Delia spoke about.

Delia also spoke about the Voices for Change program, which supports and mentors people with lived experience to become advocates.

As well as hearing from Delia, members of the Zonta Club of Sydney also took time to update our club photos!
