Club Members and friends gathered at Fortune Village in the city to celebrate Chinese New Year, at the restaurant of long-standing Zonta Club of Sydney friend, Simon Chan.
As well much fun and laughter, we consumed a delicious banquet of Chinese food and decided to raise funds on the night to buy materials for the production of birthing kits. These kits enable sterile birthing conditions to be provided where none are available otherwise. They cost only $5 to produce and help to protect the life of a mother and her baby in developing countries.
On the night, we raised $425, enough to buy materials for kits to protect 170 lives. A wonderful effort! Thank you Zonta family and friends for your generosity and your kindness towards mothers and babies you will never meet.
