I don’t mean to alarm you – but there are only 13 weeks until Christmas! Yes, the supermarket is already stocking the Christmas fare and it probably isn’t long until those tinny Christmas tunes start playing in the shopping centres.
Does that thought strike fear into your heart? Are you already dreading doing Christmas shopping?
Don’t panic! We have the perfect solution. Get out your diaries and mark Wednesday the 28th November, then relax as your Christmas shopping will be all sorted. The Zonta Club of Sydney will be holding their annual evening shopping event at Abbey’s Bookshop, on York St in the city (opposite the QVB) where you can browse the excellent book selection, enjoy a glass of wine and some finger food and buy all your Christmas presents, knowing you are also raising money to assist women across Sydney and the world through Zonta’s programs.
The great people at Abbey’s open the store late for our shopping event and donate 10% of any purchases made on the night to the Zonta Club of Sydney. Funds raised go towards our service programs, such as birthing kits for women in developing countries, breast cushions for women undergoing breast cancer treatment and supporting Lou’s Place, a women’s refuge in Sydney. Funds also go toward our annual scholarships and awards programs. Please come along and invite all your friends to our annual shopping event.
