The Zonta Club of Sydney are very proud of our member, Marcia Seymour-Dane, who was awarded an OAM (Medal in the General Division) in this years Queen’s Birthday Honour List for services to women through various organisations.
On the 7th September 2018, Marcia was joined by fellow Zonta Club of Sydney member Barbara Horsfield to be invested with her award at Government House.
Marcia joined the Zonta Club of Sydney in 1968, and has held multiple roles throughout that time, including Club President and District Governor. She has also been involved in setting up (or “SOM”ing) a number of other clubs, most recently the Zonta Club of Hunter/Newcastle.
In addition to being involved in Zonta, Marcia has also been a long term member of UNIFEM Australia/UN Women Australia. She was the second national president of this organisation and has been involved in the annual International Women’s Day breakfast over many years.
So a big congratulations to Marcia for her award and thank you for your wonderful and ongoing service to women.
