On Tuesday evening members of The Zonta Club of Sydney and their friends were lucky enough to attend Darlinghurst Theatre to see a production of “The Secret Singer”. It is the world premiere season of this wonderful show and was a powerful story about a chance meeting between two women and the stories they shared.
Not only did club members enjoy the show, with it’s fantastic original songs, but we were also lucky enough to have a special “Q and A” session with the cast, writer, musical director and the real life inspiration for the show after the session.
The actors in the show, Genevieve Lemon and Kate Mannix may be familiar to many, and writer Joanna Weinberg (who wrote both the play and the songs) is famous in her native South Africa, as well as writing a number of musical plays here in Australia.
Money raised from the tickets purchased by Zonta Club of Sydney members and their guests will go towards our service projects and our awards programs.
