The Jane M Klausman (JMK) Women in Business Scholarship program is a Zonta International initiative aimed at helping women pursue undergraduate and master’s degrees in business management. As of December 2020, 21.2% of S&P 500 companies’ board seats are occupied by women, and just 6% of the companies’ CEOs are women, so there is still a way to go to gender equality.
The program operates at Zonta club, district and international levels. Once awarded the club level scholarship, women may be eligible for the district level award, and then to the international scholarship. Each year, Zonta awards up to 32 scholarships of US$2000 at the district level and six international scholarships in the amount of US $8000.
