For the past few months members of the Zonta Club of Sydney, like many people across Australian and indeed the world, have been bunkered down and following the recommendations of our Chief Medical Officer and governments to stay at home, social distance and avoid gatherings. We successfully held two club Zoom catch up meetings, and the Board also met by Zoom to keep the club ticking over while we hibernated.
But now, with the gradual lessening of the restrictions in NSW we are looking forward to our first “in person” meeting for a number of months. Wednesday 15th July will be our next meeting, albeit with some changes such as a bigger room provided from Club York, fewer people per table and our meal to be provided to us at the table rather than our usual buffet.
During the Covid-19 restrictions we also postponed our AGM, so that has been moved to our August meeting – we look forward to voting in a new board and office bearers to take us through the next year. As 2020 has already been a very eventful one perhaps we will be hoping for a quiet end to the year!
