Each year, the Zonta Club of Sydney sponsors an award which is presented annually at the National Council of Women NSW “Celebrate Being an Australian” Luncheon. The club sponsors an award which is presented to a student from UTS in the Nursing and Midwifery School. This years awards were held in the Great Hall at UTS with the Patron of NCW NSW, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC in attendance to present the awards. Our award this year was given to Narelle Brown, who is studying midwifery and is already working to build the network of Indigenous midwives and maternity workers as well as linking Indigenous nursing and midwifery students in online groups. She hopes to join an Aboriginal specific Midwifery Group Practice on graduation and to contribute to improvements in policy to address health issues affecting Indigenous women and their families during pregnancy and early childhood.

The Zonta Club of Sydney congratulate not just Narelle but all the awardees from this wonderful event and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. More information about all the Awardees as well as their Sponsors can be found here
Dear Zonta team,
I had breast surgery today and received a gift of a beautiful yellow cushion from Zonta via my breast care nurse to assist with the comfort of my recovery.
I am grateful for this gift and the positive impact it had on my day. I will get some good use from it.
Thank you all very much. Much appreciated.
Regards
Julie
