June Fundraising Events

Recent fun and fundraising from Zonta Club of Sydney

June has been a busy month for the Zonta Club of Sydney. Not only did we have our club meeting and change over, with the installation of a new board including new President, Vice President and Directors, we also have had two very well attended fundraising events.

The first was our Racing luncheon, held in club member Carole’s lovely home and garden. Zonta Club of Sydney members and friends dressed up to the nines, donned a selection of race day hats and fascinators and enjoyed delicious food and drinks while attempting to choose a winning horse. While the winners were relatively few (apart from Gail who chose multiple winners) everyone enjoyed a great day. And the real winner was the club, with over $1800 raised towards our service and advocacy projects.

The second fundraising and fellowship event was a banquet dinner which was held at Fortune Village restaurant. Members and guests enjoyed a great evening, although we felt sorry for other diners seated near the rather noisy tables of Zontians! Also on the night we presented certificates of appreciation to some of our long term supporters – Simon Chan, proprietor of Fortune Village, as well as Duncan Shaw and Geoff Wright.

We look forward to more fun events to raise funds and enjoy the fellowship of other members throughout the year, and remember if you would like to come and join us, email the club on zontaclubsydney@gmail to find out more!
