The last issue of The Voice for 2019 was published at the end of November. This edition has lots of wonderful pictures and information about celebrations throughout District 24 for the centenary of Zonta. Zonta Club of Sydney hosted our luncheon on behalf of the District (read about it here) and there were many other events – all of which looked fantastic! The Zonta Club of Western Sydney held an afternoon tea with speakers from their school citizenship awards, as well as the Young Women in Public Affairs awards, and it sounded like a wonderful event.
Also mentioned in this edition is hardship facing many across the state with bushfires. Frighteningly this was written before the recent “mega fires” around greater Sydney and in which two young men lost their lives while fighting to protect other people and properties. Suggestions for ways to support those in need are included in the issue (for example the Salvation Army appeal).
On a happier note, Governor elect Karen Tromp is off to Chicago for Governor training and reminds us all that the bookings for Convention are open! To be held from 4th – 8th July 2020 in Chicago. The website for Convention can be found here.
