Our monthly club meeting was held on Wednesday August 15th. This month we were lucky enough to have Sarah Neill from Girl Guides Australia come to talk to us about the Voices Against Violence program, a pilot program within NSW which our club has committed to provide funds for over the next two years.
The Voices Against Violence program has been developed by UN Women and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. The program was devised to help young people learn to talk about violence, feel more confident in discussing this issue and recognise their rights. The program is currently being adapted for NSW and will be piloted over the next year.
The club was pleased to hear the update of the program. We look forward to hearing further about how the program is received.
