club meeting Guest Speaker

July club meeting – Recognising the First Peoples and The Voice to Parliament

Our upcoming July club meeting will be held on Wednesday 19th July and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our guest Sandy Killick.

Sandy is from Democracy Matters, and is a leading authority on democracy. She is an experienced non-partisan facilitator, who creates spaces where people can have challenging and necessary discussions about the big ideas affecting all of us.

Sandy will be facilitating a discussion around the Referendum 2023 – about whether to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. We will find out what Australians will vote on, the referendum process so far and the pros and cons of the proposed question.

We would welcome any guests to join us for our discussion and dinner. If you have any questions about the upcoming referendum we hope we can answer them!

The cost of the evening is $60 which includes two course dinner (alternate service meals) and will be held at Level 2, Club York, York St Sydney.
