2025 was another busy and productive year for the Zonta Club of Sydney – and 2026 is shaping up even bigger!
Club members enjoyed our usual calendar of monthly meetings with interesting speakers, and also continued to hear about our own members and their lives, careers and how they ended up at Zonta. As well as our regular meetings, we held a number of different events which raised funds for our projects. Some of the highlights of 2025 were –
February saw the club hold a delicious banquet at The Fortune Village Restaurant in the city for Chinese New Year. Much fun and laughter was shared, all while raising funds. If you missed last years – look out for the celebration this year for the Year of the Horse which will be held on Friday 27th February – save the date!
In March – International Women’s Day saw our brightly coloured tree wraps that originally debuted in Circular Quay moved to Darling Harbour to raise awareness of Zonta as well as draw attention to the ongoing issue of domestic and family violence.

In August we held an Afternoon of piano delights with a wonderful pianist, Yanghee Kim to raise funds for birthing kits. Then in October we welcomed guests to a dinner at The Apprentice restaurant in Ultimo, and raised funds towards providing breast cushions for those affected by breast cancer.

We rounded out the year with our Christmas party and annual major fundraiser of our Christmas raffle (which was successful in raising $7500 which is an excellent result!).

Throughout the year we also continued to fund and provide backpacks for women released from prison, breast cushions for those affected by breast cancer surgery and our annual awards for study in numerous fields.
And after a brief break over Christmas, now planning is ramping up for the clubs 60th anniversary celebration which will be held on Saturday 23rd May 2026 – please save the date as we invite all our friends, members and anyone who is interested in the work of Zonta to join us at the celebration dinner.
Of course, we will also be holding our regular dinners, an International Women’s Day breakfast, our Chinese New Year banquet, and many other events so we look forward to seeing you all.
